Water has long been a powerful metaphor to describe the lives of human beings. The Bible talks often about living water & having that water flow within us as followers of Jesus. It also encourages us, even challenges us to have the living water of Jesus Christ overflow into the lives of the people around us.  The truth is that God created his followers to be so full of rich experiences, rewarding relationships, & abundant blessings that we can afford to pour huge amounts of hope, comfort & refreshment on others & still have more than we will ever need. 

If we imagine our life as a four tiered fountain that has water springing up in it we see that God is the first level of that fountain, pouring his blessings into our lives- filling us with his love, joy and hope.  Then the moment comes when we are so full we can’t possibly contain it anymore.  Maybe it’s a drip at first- a small bit of hope trickling from your life into someone else’s-but it isn’t long before the water that is flowing freely and spilling into the next level of the fountain, then the next, and the next.  God’s love is overflowing into the lives of your family, friends, neighbors, community and the world.
