Family Ministry

Family Ministry:The mission of VP is to make followers of Jesus Christ committed to a life-long pursuit of loving God and loving people. We believe this happens best in small, relational community. For adults this is a Life Group. For children & students it’s the family!

Our goal in Family Ministry is to encourage & equip parents to raise their children to be followers of Jesus Christ. Some of the ways we do that are with:  

  • Take It Home events  
  • For the Family booklets 
  • KidZone take home sheets 

Take it Home:

During a Take It Home event, you will learn about a topic or skill that applies specifically to kids in a certain age group. 

 

Parents meet with the Children or Youth Pastor while kids meet with their ministry leaders. During this part of the event you will be encouraged about the topic or skill, learn what God says about it, & be taught a skill to use at home.  Meanwhile, your kids will discuss the topic with their leaders & do a related activity. You will then have an opportunity to practice the skill you’ve learned with your children.  

 

Before you leave, you will be given a tool to take home.  It may be a book, a visual reminder, or a craft.  This tool will help you continue the discussion with your kids!
