GRTC hacked twice in four months

The Greater Richmond Transit Company was hacked twice in four months, the organization confirmed this week. It had not publicly disclosed one of those incidents.
A database that compiles ransomware attacks listed the incidents: one reported in December 2023 and one in February 2024. A GRTC spokesperson confirmed the first breach happened over Thanksgiving weekend last year.
Doug Emhoff discusses voter protection at Charlottesville stop

While campaigning in Virginia for the Democratic presidential ticket, second gentleman Doug Emhoff stopped in Charlottesville and spoke with students at a voter protection training.
The event, hosted by the Democratic Party of Virginia, trained people to become poll observers for DPVA’s voter protection team. And at Wednesday’s training, Emhoff amplified the Harris–Walz campaign’s stated commitment to protecting voting rights nationwide — from a lawyer’s perspective.
