Stephen Carter Offers Political 'Palace' Thriller

Yale University law professor Stephen Carter is a multi-talented man — both an educator and a novelist.

His novels are set in the world of wealthy and well-educated black Americans.

Carter's third novel, Palace Council, is historical and contemporary. He chronicles the pivotal struggles over race and politics in the 1960s, which transformed America.

Carter speaks with Farai Chideya.
