Richmond, Va. (June 30, 2021) – The popular public television series Legacy List with Matt Paxton has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lifestyle Series, it was announced Monday. Awarded by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), the Daytime Emmy Awards Lifestyle Programming ceremony will be presented on the Emmy® OTT platform on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 8 p.m. ET.

Legacy List with Matt Paxton uncovers America’s diverse legacy, one house and one family at a time. Each episode follows a family’s emotional journey as Matt and his team of historians, conservators and experts help them sort through a house full of memories as they prepare to downsize. Season 3 began filming this month and will premiere in January 2022. Season 2 of Legacy List with Matt Paxton is currently airing on public television stations nationwide and streaming on pbs.org and mylegacylist.com.

“The entire Legacy List team is delighted by this honor,” says series host Matt Paxton. “It’s great to be part of such a positive show and to have the opportunity to shine a light on these extraordinary families. By going through their legacy lists, we learn not only about their stories but about our country’s history as well. And since we all have items from family members we love, we can all relate to their journeys.”

“The idea of home can elicit powerful feelings. The stories of families and their personal items, keepsakes, histories and homes shared on Legacy List have really resonated with viewers. Matt and his team are so thoughtful; they are invested in the families they work with, and I think that authenticity comes through in every episode,” says Steve Humble, Chief Content Officer at VPM.

Legacy List is a compelling series with mass appeal, sharing deeply personal stories uncovered through the discovery of family heirlooms and other historical treasures,” notes Cynthia Fenneman, President and CEO of American Public Television, national distributor of Legacy List. “This is an incredible and well-deserved honor for the talented team at VPM and the series. We look forward to Season 3 of this popular, skillfully produced and memorable program!”

Says Michael Yudin, President of MY Entertainment: “I am so proud to be associated with this show and the people involved. It takes a village to have success, but it takes people like Steve and others at VPM to take a shot at it.”
