Nearly 150 community members packed The Sipe Center in Bridgewater on Sept. 18 for an event to celebrate the launch of season three of VPM and Deep Structure’s Life in the Heart Land (LITHL) series!

Artists from Innisfree Village guided participants through a cutting board-making activity, and folks were then able to sign a tag that accompanied each cutting board. Two handmade cutting boards were then raffled off later in the evening. Attendees also caught a premiere screening of LITHL’s third season before listening to panel discussions with rural neighbors featured in the series. In addition, there was a local musical performance, and the producers from Deep Structure shared insights from their experiences working on the series. Sensory-friendly rooms were available to attendees as well.
“In addition to learning that I want to see all of this season’s episodes, I learned about the wide range of manifestations of autism disability,” one of the attendees said after the event.
Community partners in attendance included Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Massanutten Regional Library and Innisfree Village.
Watch all episodes from season three of LITHL on the PBS App beginning on Sept. 29. The new episodes will also air in pairs on VPM PBS beginning on Oct. 2 and continuing from the 9th and 16th.
