Monopoly Richmond is coming in fall 2023

The pairing couldn't have been more odd: Maggie Walker and Rich Uncle Pennybags.

The real-life mascot Mr. Monopoly elicited stares from pedestrians Thursday morning on Broad Street at the announcement that Richmond's getting its own version of the Monopoly board game.

Scheduled for a fall release by Top Trumps USA, under license from Hasbro, the game will feature local historic landmarks and popular destinations.

As for which ones, Richmonders are encouraged to submit ideas to [email protected]. They will be evaluated on “longevity, credibility and community outreach.”

Submissions will be accepted through Monday, March 20.
