Virginia’s two-year budget deal includes a new penalty for marijuana possession. If Gov. Glenn Youngkin signs the budget, carrying more than four ounces but less than a pound of marijuana will be a misdemeanor.
State safety officials remind Virginians to prepare for hurricane season

As meteorologists predict another overly active season, officials urge Virginians to get ready now before any storm makes its way to the commonwealth. They recommend residents to create emergency kits, that include first aid kits as well as enough food, water and additional supplies to last a week.
