Maggie Walker students protest planned Earle-Sears appearance

Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears canceled a visit to the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School in Richmond on Wednesday. Students had planned to protest the scheduled appearance.

Sears had been scheduled to tour the high school and to visit classrooms. The school’s director confirmed the visit was canceled because Earle-Sears was ill.

Despite the cancellation, several student held signs in support of trans rights in front of the school.
