Project Plant It! is a partnership between Dominion Energy and the Arbor Day Foundation to teach communities about the importance of trees.
Since 2007, the program has worked with schools and civic groups to offer hands-on learning experiences to children and adults. So far they have distributed more than half a million tree seedlings -- enough to cover about 1,250 acres of new forest!
Now, they’re inviting K through 12 educators to enter their 2020 STEM Lesson Plan Contest. Just develop a STEM-based lesson plan that promotes learning about trees and submit it by March 27. The winning entry will be featured in their upcoming Educator’s Classroom Guide, and the top three entries will earn gift cards to help purchase classroom supplies.
