For Passover, many Jewish families, friends and even strangers gather and eat together to mark the start of the 8-day holiday. This gathering over food, known as Seder is an important Jewish tradition, but as the world self-isolates, how do faith communities continue their religious practices?
In this special Virtual Community Seder, members of Richmond’s diverse Jewish community will share their unique observance of the holiday through home-made videos. Regardless of your religious background, learn about the different elements of the Passover Seder and how families are keeping traditions alive despite distance and social isolation.
The live stream on Facebook Live and YouTube is hosted by Roben Farzad (Full Disclosure) and produced in partnership with the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond, VPM, local clergy, and families from across Richmond’s Jewish community.
Roben Farzad hosts Full Disclosure, which airs Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. and repeats Sundays at 8:00 p.m. on VPM News 88.9 FM. Farzad is also a special correspondent for PBS NewsHour. He was previously a writer for Bloomberg Businessweek and is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Business School.
