Circle Time at Home: "The Three Little Pigs, Part 2"

Home Learning | Circle Time at Home

Revisiting the fairytale, “The Three Little Pigs” offers children a chance to hear the tale in a different way and retell it with their teacher. When a young child hears the same story multiple times, they become familiar and comfortable with a greater number of words. Hearing favorite stories read or told over and over helps children become aware of the pattern and rhythm of text. Language is more than just words, it is how words sound and fluently connect to each other. A local educator and child retell the tale using puppets, encouraging choral recitation of familiar phrases in the story. We practice sorting objects by their beginning sounds with our main story characters, pig and wolf. Peek into a local home where father and child enjoy reading the story together talking about what they see in the pictures. Music and art help complete our fun day with Circle Time at Home! Grades: Preschool and Kindergarten.
