The VPM News team received three Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters Awards, recognizing the exceptional reporting produced throughout 2020.

The not-for-profit organization VAPB represents thousands of newspapers and broadcast stations across the U.S., taking an opportunity to honor only a select few in the annual contest.

VPM’s news stories were awarded for their in-depth look at how the pandemic impacted and changed communities in Virginia, highlighting a multimedia story about evictions and the increase in Christmas tree sales.

In addition, VPM’s Benjamin Dolle placed second in best newscast for his on-air contributions to “The Daily Newscast,” which delivers updates of important Central Virginia news every morning in 10 minutes or less.
