Videographer/Editor

VPM is a public media organization serving Central Virginia and Shenandoah Valley. The VPM News team produces award-winning journalism for our NPR station in Richmond and distribution across our digital channels to over 2 million people in VPM’s coverage area. As an independent, non-profit service, we strive to create and serve a more informed public.

Are you a visual storyteller looking to join a team of journalists to produce a weekly multimedia news program covering state-wide news, public policy, justice, and arts and culture? VPM is seeking an experienced and creative videographer/editor who is skilled in the craft of visual storytelling to shoot, edit, and produce news and feature stories and finalize the weekly program for broadcast. The videographer/editor should be comfortable with all aspects of video production, including lighting, sound, music, graphics, visuals, and interviewing and will be responsible for shooting original footage and using archival footage to tell compelling stories.

The ideal candidate will have strong journalistic standards, experience with broadcast operations, and knowledge of local and regional politics, current events, as well as Virginia history and culture.
