Whether you are bundled up by the fire or working in your warm winter kitchen, you will be able to enjoy Tudor needlework and cooking activities like those that kids in the 17th century took joy in. Children ages 5-11 will enjoy a curated box full of fun supplies that allows them to complete six home arts themed projects, including blackwork embroidery and dinner rolls in a jar! January 18 is the sixth annual National Day of Racial Healing. In recognition of this day when people come together in solidarity for racial healing and to take action to dismantle systemic racism, Coming to the Table – RVA, along with Coming To The Table sister local groups in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as the Richmond Pledge To End Racism, are presenting a FREE (by optional donation) virtual concert featuring self-described “social-justice singer-songwriter," Crys Matthews. The Weinstein Jewish Community Center’s annual Israeli Film Festival is dedicated to fostering an understanding of Israeli culture and access to Israel’s young but thriving film industry. A dynamic group of three regional artists’ contemporary artwork will be on display at Artspace nonprofit gallery’s new location. Volunteers will transcribe handwritten pages and historical newspapers by reading the text and typing it into digital form.
