Harrisonburg VPM PBS (WVPT) to increase power September 15

VPM PBS in the Harrisonburg viewing area (WVPT) will increase power on Sept. 15 to provide viewers with a stronger and more reliable signal. At that time, all viewers using an antenna and TV will need to rescan for channels to continue receiving VPM on WVPT.

What action do I need to take?

  • Harrisonburg viewers who watch WVPT over the air will need to rescan their antennas on September 15 to continue receiving VPM PBS.
  • Cable, satellite or viewers outside of the Harrisonburg market will not be impacted.

How do I rescan my TV?

  • Select "scan" or "autotune" from your TV or converter box control menu to start the scanning process. 
  • Instructions are usually available by pressing the "set-up" or "menu" buttons on your remote control. 
  • Your TV will do the rest. This process usually takes a few minutes to complete. 

Do I need new equipment?

  • No, viewers will not need to purchase any new equipment or services.
