The VPM News team recently won four awards from the Public Media Journalists Association (PMJA). The annual awards recognize the best of local public radio news in a wide array of categories. This year’s winners were celebrated at NPR Headquarters in Washington D.C. at the PMJA awards banquet during the PMJA annual conference on June 7.
“These wins showcase our collaborative spirit both inside and outside our newsroom,” said VPM News director Elliott Robinson. “We’re delighted to celebrate these awards with the team and our partners.”

PMJA supports, empowers and advocates for journalists working in public media. In that endeavor, they seek to foster high ethical standards in the practice of journalism through the creation of more training and networking opportunities, increased diversity in public media, working to promote environments that are free of discrimination and harassment and much more.
