As we move closer to the November elections, VPM is ramping up its coverage and sharing election resources with audiences. Throughout October, VPM's podcast RVA’s Got Issues (RGI) will present weekly interviews with each of the five candidates vying to be Richmond's next Mayor.
“Local elections are incredibly important, so I’m excited to share these conversations we had with Richmond’s mayoral candidates with our listeners,” said RGI host Rich Meagher. “Richmonders need to know who the candidates are and what they stand for, and we feel like our extended time with each candidate can help listeners get to know them better.”
The first interview of RGI’s mayoral series with candidate Harrison Roday is available now. The episode looks at Roday’s experience in the nonprofit and industrial manufacturing space, experience in politics under Senator Tim Kaine and how he thinks his aptitude for budgeting and finance sets him apart from the other candidates. See the rest of the schedule for future episodes below.
- 10/9 - Maurice Neblett

Each episode of RGI is available on VPM’s YouTube channel and wherever you get your podcasts. RGI has also covered other local elections in the last month, including the Richmond City Council and the Richmond Public School Board.
