WATCH: Virginia Republicans urge ballot unity amid potential friction

Virginia’s full slate of 2025 Republican candidates — Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, John Reid and Attorney General Jason Miyares — appeared together for the first time at a Tuesday event in Fairfax County.

While the party’s candidates persistently talked about voting the whole ticket and touted party unity, questions remain that there could be cracks among the party’s candidates. Observers cited potential lingering friction between candidates Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears and John Reid, who are respectively running to be Virginia's next governor and lieutenant governor.

In April, Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin indirectly called on Reid to step down in the wake of reports that a social media account with sexually explicit images could be linked to him.
