Richmond-based trumpeter Rex Richardson will be performing with the Richmond Philharmonic this Sunday afternoon (4:00 p.m.) at the Collegiate School. They will present Allen Vizzutti's “Three World Winds,” composed especially for Rex. Also on the program is Aaron Copland’s “Lincoln Portrait” narrated by the voice of NPR Chioke l’Anson. I will be hosting a special pre-concert talk with Rex and Music Director Peter Wilson at 3:30 p.m., so you’ll want to arrive early!

Rex stopped by our WCVE Music studios to chat about Vizzutti’s work, while demonstrating the three instruments he’ll be playing and how he creates his cadenzas.
