The Richmond Choral Society will perform the “Yizkor Requiem” by composer Thomas Beveridge this Sunday at Congregation Beth Ahabah in Richmond. The work seeks to find common ground within the rich Judeo-Christian tradition, utilizing the memorial services of the Jewish and Catholic faiths.
This weekend’s performance begins at 4:00 p.m. and will feature a full orchestra conducted by Markus Compton, with guests Benjamin Warschawski (cantor), Anne O’Byrne (soprano) and Gabrielle Maes (mezzo-soprano). There will also be a pre-concert lecture by composer Thomas Beveridge at 3:30 p.m.
