The Central Virginia Masterworks Chorale will present their winter concert this weekend in Richmond and Ashland. The program will feature Antonio Vivaldi's "Gloria" and will include two modern works by composers with Richmond affiliations. Zachary Wadsworth grew up in Richmond and his "Benedicite" will begin the concert. Benjamin Broening is on the faculty of the University of Richmond, and his work "Wit Wonders" will be heard later in the program. Renowned organist Daniel Stipe will accompany and perform solo as well.
Artistic Director Ryan Tibbetts stopped by to talk about this weekend's performances. The concerts are Friday evening (7:30 p.m.) at Grace Baptist Church in Richmond and Sunday afternoon (3:00 p.m.) at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church in Ashland.
Yours in good music,
