Composer Michael Whalen has a wide-ranging musical background that includes classical music. He's worked on more than 800 TV and film scores, thousands of commercials and numerous TV themes and video games. Michael is also a world-renowned recording artist and producer with 32 solo and soundtrack recordings to his credit.
In talking with me about his new album "Sacred Spaces," Michael expressed a desire to break down the barriers of musical genres. While some might describe similar works as ambient music, he explains his style is a little different and contains a lot of melodic and harmonic material, in addition to setting a particular tone and atmosphere.
