Interview with Mike Ferry-From Ulster to Appalachia

Scotland
Local Middle school history teacher Mike Ferry has a side job. He makes fiddle music. On his latest album, “From Ulster to Appalachia,” Ferry explores the thread of how Irish-Scotch music made its way from Donegal, Ireland and parts of nearby Scotland into American culture. Coming up on tonight’s World Music Show (9/26) , I’m in conversation with local fiddler and history teacher Mike Ferry, whose new album “From Ulster to Appalachia,” traces how Scotch-Irish music made its way into Americana music. Plus, I’ll feature the usual smattering of world music, including tracks from Piers Faccini, Leni Stern, Moken, Angelica Garcia and more!
