The Violins of Hope, a touring exhibit that tells the stories of violins played by Jewish musicians during one of history's darkest times, the Holocaust, is in Richmond through October 24th.  The violins in the exhibit were recovered and lovingly restored by Amnon Weinstein, an Israeli violin shop owner and master
craftsman who lost 400 family members in the Holocaust.

The Richmond Symphony will be presenting special concerts this Thursday (September 9th), Friday (September 10th) and Sunday (September 12th), with members performing on these instruments.  Concertmaster Daisuke Yamamoto will be featured as a soloist on these programs, and he joined me to talk about the concerts and perform on the instrument he'll be using.

Yours in good music,
Mike Goldberg Classical Host, VPM Music
