"Julie, Monster" is a new local project presented by RVA Baroque.  It's a full-length opera written and scored by the father and son team of Raphael and Niccolo Seligmann.  The opera tells the amazing story of Julie d'Aubigny, swordswoman, opera star and sexual outlaw in Louis XIV's France.  The production stars Jaylin Brown as Julie, along with a host of locally-known singers from various genres.  RVA Baroque has teamed up with the Firehouse Theatre for these performances.

In-person tickets for local performances are sold out, but tickets are available for live streaming on Saturday, December 4th, as well as on demand the weekend of December 11-12.  I caught up with the creative team to discuss the lengthy process of putting this project together, so listen in for more details!

Yours in good music,
