The 25th Anniversary Season for the Virginia Arts Festival

The Virginia Arts Festival

The Virginia Arts Festival began in a Norfolk storefront in 1987.  Now an internationally-recognized cultural destination, the festival has transformed the arts scene in Hampton Roads, bringing the world's great ballet companies, classical, contemporary, jazz and world musicians, Broadway stars and more to the region each spring.

The 25th Anniversary season begins March 25th with the American Ballet Theatre, “one of the greatest and grandest ballet companies in the whole wide world” (The New York Times), performing the classic Don Quixote, with a score by Ludwig Minkus.  Executive and Artistic Director Robert Cross, who founded the festival, joined me to discuss the highlights of this year's festival, which runs through May.

Yours in good music,
Mike Goldberg Classical Host, VPM Music
