The Akropolis Reed Quintet featured at the Virginia Arts Festival
The Akropolis Reed Quintet is known for its unique instrumentation, blending the sounds of the oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon and saxophone. The ensemble came together as students at the University of Michigan over a decade ago and has enjoyed immense success, winning seven national chamber music prizes including the 2014 Fischoff Gold Medal.
Kari Landry is the clarinetist and manages the business and marketing side of the organization. I had the opportunity to sit down and chat with her about their activities and upcoming performance at the Virginia Arts Festival. Check them out online HERE!
Yours in good music,
Mike Goldberg Classical Host, VPM Music
