The Richmond Symphony continues their Symphony Series this weekend in the Carpenter Theatre at Dominion Energy Center. Violinist Jennifer Koh will be the guest soloist, performing Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. The program opens with a work titled "The Block" by Carlos Simon and concludes with the dramatic Symphony No. 6 by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
I caught up with Music Director Valentina Peleggi, who gave us a preview of the upcoming concerts on "An Hour with the Richmond Symphony," which airs each Friday at 5pm and repeats Sunday evenings at 7pm.
The performances this weekend are Saturday evening (10/22) at 8pm and Sunday afternoon (10/23) at 3pm. I'll be hosting a pre-concert discussion with Valentina Peleggi and Jennifer Koh one hour before each performance.
