The Neave Trio

The Neave Trio will be closing out this season's Mary Anne Rennolds Chamber Concert Series with a performance Saturday evening at 7pm in the Singleton Center for the Performing Arts at VCU. Since forming in 2010, the Neave Trio has earned enormous praise for its
engaging, cutting-edge performances. New York's WQXR explains, “‘Neave’ is actually a Gaelic name meaning ‘bright’ and ‘radiant,’ both of which certainly apply to this trio’s music making.”

I sat down with cellist Mikhail Veselov to discuss the program, which includes works by Gabriela Lena Frank, Germaine Taillaferre and Ethyl Smyth.

Yours in good music,
Mike Goldberg
