Richmonders 'reclaim' their time and African ancestry

Genealogist Paula Royster had dug into the family history and DNA of nine Richmonders as part of the “Reclaiming Our Time” project, and on Saturday it was time to “reveal” what she said was “hidden in plain view.”
The city sponsored the event to help Jackson Ward and Gilpin Court residents understand their connections to the city — and each other. They live in the two neighborhoods split by the construction of the highway that became I-95. It’s the focus of a city study on how to reconnect the two neighborhoods.
How to watch the first GOP presidential debate for 2024

Republicans are looking at a crowded field to challenge President Joe Biden for the 2024 presidential election and most will face off on a Milwaukee stage Wednesday night for the first GOP debate.
The Republican National Committee confirmed the names of eight presidential candidates who will participate. The location — Wisconsin, one of the most contested states in the country — will take center stage as the 2024 contest ramps up. The closely split state is expected to continue to be a focus for both parties.
But key front-runner Donald Trump has chosen not to attend.
