Conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto will make his Richmond debut this weekend, leading our Richmond Symphony in a program of music from the Americas. George Gershwin's An American in Paris highlights the program, which also includes Leonard Bernstein's Three Dance Episodes from "On the Town." From Mexico and South America, there will be works by Silvestre Revueltas, Alberto Ginastera and Jose Pablo Moncayo.

Prieto is the Music Director of the North Carolina Symphony, and he joined me on "An Hour with the Richmond Symphony" to discuss his rather unique background and the upcoming program.

Performances are Saturday evening, April 6th at 8pm and Sunday afternoon, April 7th at 3pm. We'll have pre-concert talks one hour before each concert.

Yours in good music,
Mike Goldberg
