Pianist Russell Wilson

The Richmond Symphony is presenting "Rhapsody in Blue @ 100 - A Gershwin Tribute" this weekend in the Carpenter Theatre. Principal pianist Russell Wilson will be the soloist in the centennial salute to one of Gershwin's most famous works. The program also includes "I Got Rhythm," "Strike Up the Band," "An American in Paris" and more.

Russell Wilson is a very familiar, friendly face that audiences have gotten used to seeing at all symphony concerts. He's been with the orchestra since the 1970s! I had the pleasure of sitting down with him and hearing some wonderful stories and getting a preview of this weekend's concerts. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings, May 10th and 11th at 8pm in the Carpenter Theatre.

Yours in good music,
Mike Goldberg
