The 2024 Wintergreen Music Festival opens July 4th and runs through July 28th. The annual festival is held on the ski slopes of Wintergreen Mountain, with concerts featuring classical, jazz, swing and bluegrass.
This year's opening weekend is part of Wintergreen Resort's July Fourth Jubilee and features the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra performing patriotic tunes, music of John Williams, and clap-along favorites for the entire family before the slopeside fireworks on Saturday the 6th.
I caught up with Artistic Director Erin Freeman to get a preview of the various offerings from this year's festival. We talked about the MountainTop Masterworks, Festive Fridays and chamber music performances during the week.
