We’re in for a loving local celebration of American songcrafters Burt Bacharach and Hal David on this edition of JAMinc Presents. Richmond’s Butterbean Jazz Quartet had been a fixture on our hometown jazz scene playing every weekend at Bottoms Up for decades. There have been personnel changes over the years but this edition of the band with a few ringers, decided to tackle the classic but challenging Bacharach/David songbook, fearlessly and carefully. They wisely recruited the incomparable Laura Ann Singh to handle most of the vocals with strong support from the versatile Charles Arthur. They put in the time to work up these unforgettable tunes and it shows. Recorded in In Your Ear’s Studio A in November of 2023, JAMinc Presents…The ButterBean Bacharach Celebration.
