In this edition of JAMinc Presents, we welcome the classic country torch bearers for a new generation, Goldsboro North Carolina’s Malpass Brothers. Chris and Taylor Malpass caught the bug early…their grandad ran a honky tonk and had a serious record collection that the boys devoured, especially the brother harmony singing of the Louvins, the Wilburns and Jim & Jesse. They couldn’t resist the songs of Hank and Lefty, Charlie Pride and Merle Haggard. And as fate would have it the Hag would produce their first record titled Memory That Bad, back in 2011. They’ve continued to stay true to their cause…a long way from a parody or a country cover band, but holding fast to the traditions of true country music. They’ve evolved impressively as entertainers since their JAMinc-presented concert at In Your Ear back in January of 2015. We’re excited to share highlights from their powerhouse set at the Tin Pan in November of 2023, as JAMinc Presents…the Malpass Brothers on VPM Music.
