Virginia Opera returns to Richmond this weekend to begin their 50th anniversary season with Mozart's "Don Giovanni." Mozart’s masterpiece is based on the legend of Don Juan, combining comedy and tragedy. The handsome playboy is loved by women as much as he loves them, but his disregard for decency catches up with him. In the end, supernatural forces exact the final punishment and, for the first time, the Don cannot outwit fate.
Artistic Director Adam Turner stopped by our VPM Music studios to discuss this production, along with Symone Harcum who plays the role of Donna Anna. I hope you enjoy our preview and have the chance to catch this production. Performances are Saturday evening (10/12) at 7:30pm and Sunday afternoon (10/13) at 2:30pm.
Yours in good music,
Mike Goldberg
