The Richmond Symphony continues their Symphony Series this weekend, with performances Saturday evening (2/22) at 8pm and Sunday afternoon (2/23) at 3pm in the Carpenter Theatre. The guest soloist will be trumpeter Michael Sachs, who has served as Principal Trumpet in The Cleveland Orchestra for 37 years!
Michael joined me on "An Hour with the Richmond Symphony" to talk about his storied career and the concerto that he'll perform by Wynton Marsalis. Also on the program will be a work by the Canadian composer Vivian Fung and the Symphony No. 2 by Robert Schumann. The orchestra will be led by guest conductor Rei Hotoda, and as always we'll have pre-concert talks one hour before each performance.
Yours in good music,
Mike Goldberg
