Two of our Virginia favorites were in town last spring (2024) to play the Shady Grove Coffee House out in Glen Allen. Robin and Linda Williams were celebrating a full fifty years of being married to music, and not so incidentally, to each other. They’ve seen a long string of successful albums, been regulars on A Prairie Home Companion as part of the Hopeful Gospel Quartet, written songs covered by Mary Chapin Carpenter, Tom T. Hall, the Seldom Scene and Emmylou Harris. And they still thrive on taking to the road and sharing their very special harmony. Longtime homesteaders in Meadowbrook near Staunton who moved into town a few years ago, they headed this way down 64 on May 4th of 2024 for a return to the venerable Shady Grove Coffee House.
