Henrico Board Selects Tyrone Nelson as Chairman

The Henrico County Board of Supervisors has appointed a new chairman and vice-chairman.

At its organizational meeting, the board unanimously appointed Tyrone Nelson from the Three Chopt District, formerly vice chairman, who stepped up in the traditional Henrico County Way.

“We don’t have a lot of drama, we just do the work.” Nelson said.

There were some widely publicized ripples last year that ended with the resignation of freshman board member Courtney Lynch, who thought the change was too slow.

“We don’t get a lot of publicity about all the great things we do to help,” Nelson said. And he listed dozens from a county that has dramatically increased services and still maintained the same real estate tax rate for 39 years.

The Board also selected Three Chopt Supervisor Thomas Branin as Vice-Chair.
