Richmond International Aiport set an all-time record last year, and the Capital Region Airport Commission has award 28 million dollars to extend Concourse A.
For RIC, 2018 was a very good year.
“2018 was a record. By a lot,” said Troy Bell, at Richmond International. “The airport for the first time ever, crossed the four million passenger threshold as well as showing year over year increase of more than eleven and a half percent.”
He attributes the growth to new service to multiple markets, a new airline Spirit, and across the board demand.
“And it was month after month after month.”
To keep ahead of the demand, the airport commission awarded the 28 million dollar contract to add six more gates to Concourse A providing more overnight airline parking and more passenger facilities.
