The California woman who accused Virginia Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax of sexual assault released a statement Wednesday detailing her allegation. A warning: this story includes graphic details. Dr. Vanessa Tyson, an associate professor at Scripps College in California said she met Fairfax in 2004. It was during the Democratic National Convention in Boston. Tyson said what began as consensual kissing turned into a sexual assault. She said Fairfax put his hand behind her neck and pushed her head towards his crotch, forcing her to give him oral sex. Tyson said she did not want to engage in oral sex with Fairfax and never gave any form of consent. Fairfax responded in a statement, saying, reading Tyson's account is painful and he’s never done anything like what she suggests. Fairfax is next in line if Virginia Governor Ralph Northam heeds calls to resign over a racist yearbook photo.
