Alex Jones alleged that Charlottesville violence was staged and that musician and former Foreign Service official Brennan Gilmore was an actor in a CIA conspiracy. Legal analyst David Heilberg.
"They looked for every coincidence they could find in his background, and then made up a conspiracy theory based on coincidences."
In another lawsuit, Jones admits that he often airs claims without doing his own investigating. Again, the legal analyst.
"The First Amendment protects journalists, but the behavior of the defendants or at least as it was alleged they didn't follow journalistic standards."
For his part, Gilmore says he has no interest in settling the case.
