The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has just wrapped up a major exhibition at Cologne, Germany, to market Virginia hardwoods to European furniture-makers.
Virginia exported 362 million in forest products last year.
“Market diversification is extremely important," said Scott Seyler, marketing manager for Northland Forest Products, one of five Virginia companies at the Cologne exhibit. “And the truly international nature of this show, with not only European buyers of North American hardwoods but also buyers from the Middle East, Southeast Asia and many areas around the globe make it a very attractive show to attend.”
Forest products are the state’s 12th largest export by value.
