reg_news_24.jpg

With just over 40-percent of the vote, retired police officer Kevin Carroll beat out Planning Commission member Craig Stariha and School Board Vice Chair Rob Thompson to run for the Matoaca District seat.

Stariha’s campaign spent over $84,000 with the majority coming from his own pocket.  Carroll’s campaign however spent just over $21,000, while Thompson spent over $14,000.

Carroll will run against Democratic challenger Shajuan Mason in November.
