First Snow of the Season Came…and Went

Richmond’s first snow of the season came and went about as predicted and the second round of winter weather is on track for tonight.

Jeff Orrock, Meteorologist in  Charge, National Weather Service in Wakefield

Orrock:  It ended up to be a pretty snow to look at with just some light accumulations across the area.

It was brief and behind that, a bit of sunshine and behind that:

Orrock :  With gradually clearing skies, the temperatures will plummet down into the low 20’s across  central Virginia.  It will be breezy tonight so we can expect wind chills to drop down really well into the teens.

He says it is the first time we have seen snow accumulating in central Virginia this early since 1991.
