Rain, Rain and Snow Mix and Much Colder Today

An Arctic blast could shatter more than 300 records across the country and bring freezing weather to more than 222 million  Americans.  And as Charles Fishburne reports some of it begins spilling over central Virginia today,  but appears more messy than menacing.

Charles Fishburne:  The change begins this morning.

Jonathan McGee:    We’re starting off mild this morning with temperatures in the 50’s.

Fishburne:  Meteorologist Jonathan McGee, National Weather Service in Wakefield

McGee :  We anticipate the rain to be arriving around sunrise . The heaviest of the rain probably comes between say nine o’clock and four and on the tail end of the rain could be that brief transition to a little rain-snow mix.

Fishburne:  Little to no accumulation he says and that should end about dark.  Then comes the cold.

McGee:  Around 24 degrees for Richmond Tuesday night and early Wednesday Morning.

Forecasts can change.  Stay tuned for updates.  Charles Fishburne, VPM News.
