The National Weather Service Is Expecting The First Snowfall Of 2020

The National Weather Service is expecting the first snowfall of 2020 beginning later this morning, mostly north and west of the metro area.  Charles Fishburne reports.

Transcript:

Charles Fishburne:  Jeff Orrock, Meteorologist in Charge of the National Weather Service in Wakefield:

Orrock :  Right now it looks like locations from  Caroline County down to parts of Hanover into Goochland, Powhatan, Amelia, even getting into Farmville and locations North and West of that are the most likely areas that will see a period of snow from Tuesday morning into Tuesday afternoon.

Fishburne:  He expects an inch or so falling by late morning with very little accumulation because the temperatures will be just above freezing.

Orrock:  Now some of that snow might sneak as far east as the  Richmond metro, so we might at times see snow mixing with some of the rainfall across central Virginia.

Fishburne:  Forecasts can change.  Stay tuned for updates.  Charles Fishburne, VPM News.
