Like college campuses across the country, the University of Richmond is quiet and empty. But at noon today, at the president’s house, Dr. Ronald Crutcher offered a cello concert on Facebook.
Dr. Crutcher is a classically trained musician and began studying cello at age 14. He’s played in Carnegie Hall and in Europe.
He says music has always helped him rise above challenges and disappointments in his own life.
And Crutcher said he hoped this performance of Saint-Saens,’ “The Swan,” would provide a small measure of inspiration, encouragement and comfort during a “difficult moment” for the community.
