Tonight, the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority’s Board will vote on whether or not to move forward with the next phase of demolition for Creighton Court.

RRHA didn’t publish the meeting’s agenda until this morning. And advocates are again raising concerns over the agency’s lack of notice  — or engagement with residents — about plans that will impact their futures. Earlier this year, the agency pulled plans from their website during a public comment period, and last year, faced in-person protests at public meetings for failing to engage residents. Also last winter, the agency sought federal approval to demolish Creighton Court before public comment or a vote by the Board of Commissioners.

Tonight’s meeting will be held virtually, starting at 5:30. To speak, members of the public must register by noon today, facing a tight deadline required by the agency’s bylaws.

To join the meeting, call (312) 757-3121 and enter access code 665-701-581.

The agency says written comments will not be accepted in advance, and registered speakers must attend the meeting through GoToMeeting or via phone.
